The Camino radiates from various places in Europe. It turns out that "the way" passes close to where I now live -- in the southwestern part of Germany. I found this out when I saw several camino markers on a training hike. This portion of the camino is found on the Hornbach - Herapel Nordroute, as detailed here: http://www.jakobswege-in-deutschland.de/streckendetail.php. Another trail that passes in this area is called the Via Regia: from Breslau through Trier, then from Trier to Metz, in France.
