Preparations for the Camino

I had been thinking of doing the Camino de Santiago for quite some time now, and I guess it was only at the beginning of this new year 2013, that I really seriously thought that now was the right time.  My husband and I had just moved to a new city in a new country, and were getting settled. I was relearning a language. I had not really started looking for a new job, and was toying with the idea of working from home.

I began reading everything about the Camino, mostly on the web, and asked about it from friends who had been there, particularly Jj who had done the entire Camino Frances twice, and Pet.  I remembered how the movie "The Way" directed by Emilio Estevez and starring Martin Sheen, had touched me.  After a little more than 2 weeks of serious planning, I now have a date. It's a go!

I did stop to think of the reasons why I want to do this pilgrimage, and it's not so clear yet. I hope it will reveal itself on the way.

Oh, and yes -- just now, I bought a train ticket online to Saint Jean Pied de Port.
